Mr. Steve Anderson…Presentations, "You CAN Make a Video Tutorial in an Hour on a Shoestring Budget", delivered as a regular paper session at EdTech 2006, a state-wide technology conference for South Carolina, and You Can Produce a Video Tutorial in Under an Hour, Even Your First! presented in the Computers on Campus track at Innovations 2006, a national multi-faceted conference.

 

Dr. Michael Bacon…A publication “Those Mysterious Transcendental Numbers” with L.C. Capp, under review, Math Magazine;  An Instructional Grant from the Association of American Colleges and Universities, SENCER (Science Education for New Civic Engagement and Responsibilities).  Development of an Interdisciplinary Course Focusing on Wetlands of South Carolina for $3500.00 (P. Fernandes,  J. Logue, and M. E. Bellanca Co-PI’s); And presentations, “Houston…we have a Bug Problem,” AMS-MAA, San Antonio TX.

Dr. Mary Ellen Bellanca…A publication, Daybooks of Discovery: Nature Diaries in Britain, 1770-1870, University of Virginia Press, April 2007; Presentations, “Avian Apocalypse in Daphne du Maurier’s ‘The Birds’” at biennial conference of the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment, along with “Wet and Wild: Bridging the Gap Between Biology and English” (with Pearl Fernandes and Michael Bacon) at the August 2006 Summer Institute of SENCER (Science Education for New Civic Engagement and Responsibilities); and Chaired Panels at the annual conference of North American Victorian Studies Association, Purdue University, and at the annual conference of British Women Writers’ Association, University of Florida.

 

Dr. Park Bucker…A publication, "Introduction to the Nobel Prize in Literature: Its History and Relevance" in _Dictionary of Literary Biography: The Nobel Prize Winners_. Detroit: Gale Research.

 

Dr. Rigoberto Florez…Received a Fellowship from Project ACCCESS, awarded by American Mathematics Association of Two year colleges (AMATYC) for Fall 2006 -Fall 2007; presented a paper, “What is a matroid?” at the Joint (Mathematical Association of America) MAA/SIAM-SE conference in Statesboro, GA; and refereed a paper, "The Signed-graphic Representations of Wheels and Whirls" for Discrete Mathematics.

Dr. Hendrikus van Bulck...Two proceedings, “An Examination of the Applicability of the Build-Up Method in Estimating the Cost of Equity Capital for Small, Closely-Held Businesses” was presentated at the International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines (IABPAD) Conference, January 4-7, 2007, in Orlando, Florida (this paper was also published in the Conference Proceedings (ISSN 1547-4836), Vol. 4, Number 1, and the paper received a Conference Best Research award and was invited to be submitted for possible publication in the International Journal of Business and Economics Perspectives); and “Mind Mapping Software as a Business Valuation Tool for Analyzing Complex Partnership Agreements: A Case Study” presentated at the International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines (IABPAD) Conference, May 3-6, 2007, Dallas, Texas (this paper was also accepted for publication in the IABPAD Conference Proceedings).
